A new wave of independent candidates is taking Utah by storm in a major potential political upheaval. Ballot Access News had the following post by Richard Winger:

Candidates are in the process of filing to seek a party nomination in the November 2017 special U.S. House election in Utah. Here is a list of such candidates. Two candidates filed, saying they want the Independent American nomination: Aaron Heineman and Jason Christensen. If they both have substantial support at the party’s nominating convention, the government will hold a primary for the Independent American Party to choose between them. It is believed this would be the first time this party will have had a primary.

Also, here is the preamble for the Independent American Party platform:

We affirm that the foundations of our country were spiritual: We testify that the Constitution for the United States of America was established as an inspired ensign and standard of liberty for all. It is the only constitution based foremost upon the rights and liberties of a free and independent people.

Our God-given rights are superior to government, placing government as the servant of the people and not their master. We revere the founding documents of America, honor the men who framed them, and ascribe all honor and glory to the God who inspired them.

We claim that no greater immediate responsibility rests upon all citizens of this Republic, and of neighboring Republics, than to protect the freedom vouchsafed by the Constitution of the United States. We also claim that the Founding Fathers established this nation as a Constitutional Republic, not a Democracy.
