War Crimes: Iraq and Afghanistan Are Not Going Away

The reason why capitalism isn’t working for 90% of Americans is because it is unchecked and unregulated! No where else in life does an institution or organism exist where it is of itself self-governing without having to answer to anybody. The same thing now is happening with our military: no checks, just do whatever the current leadership tells you. And since our government is controlled by corporate America, it is already fascist by definition and self-governing by practice!

National Security Advisor John Bolton recently said he will use any means necessary to protect our soldiers from the ICC, the International Criminal Court. This court was established in 2002 by the UN to protect citizens of the world from genocide and crimes against humanity in countries and conflicts where the rule of law had broken down. The Bush Administration passed into law The American Servicemembers Protection Act of the same year commonly known as The “Hague Invasion Act” which allows the US to “take all means necessary and appropriate” to release US personnel being held by the International Criminal Court.

So, both the ICC and the “Hague Invasion Act” came to be within a year of 9/11. Do you think that this is a coincidence? Was the rest of the world concerned about our invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan and was George Bush concerned about being found guilty of war crimes? If we want to have better karma and better outcomes we have to correct our politicians and corporate entities when they get out of line. Without any oversight we are all doomed and the criminals will seal our fate!

Donald Trump wanted to pull us out of NATO when he was running for President, we have left the United Nations Human Rights Council since his becoming President and now along with John Bolton he has been using the United Nations to threaten military action against another member country. What is this man trying to hide? And what actions is he trying to protect himself from?

John Bolton threatened the ICC with sanctions because he said that they were “ineffective, unaccountable and dangerous”. I think that statement is an accurate indictment of his own actions and of the history of our military involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan. We’ve destroyed those countries, the Middle East, the environment, and our economy in our wake! Yet in our collective cluelessness, we keep waving the flag and act as if nothing is wrong!

Bolton’s comments came in response to the ICC preliminary examinations into alleged war crimes in Afghanistan since 2003, including war crimes committed by the CIA and United States military. As I said earlier, we can’t move forward as a nation until we admit the wrongs we’ve committed in Afghanistan and Iraq. Our country attacked, destroyed and tortured their countries and the terrorists who flew the planes into the towers were mostly Saudi Arabians. They were not Iraqi and not from Afghanistan. George W. Bush talked about attacking Iraq in his first cabinet meeting, to the horror of all in attendance!

Are we gonna continue to let our politicians threaten and kill whomever they want without any resistance whatsoever? Are we as citizens going to continue to volunteer to be underpaid mercenaries and hit men in the name of God, country and dollar?

Jack believes we need to get money out of politics and that the church should take care of people instead of trying to get hypocrites elected to public office.
