Who Pays For America?

The taxes that are being placed on middle class America are ridiculous. The rich in comparison pay nothing, yet have everything. While the majority pay everything and still don’t have national health care or affordable education for their children, we are at risk of losing our Social Security pensions and other benefits. How can this repetitive screwing over continue to exist?

We Americans only get less and less for more money and I’m tired of the treadmill and all the hoops that we have to jump through to just exist! I’m not asking for a utopia, just a society that doesn’t allow the richest among us to take everything we have and refuse to pay us a living wage.

The enemy of Americans is not beyond our borders but are the ones inside our gates pulling the strings in our lives. Every day, I become more furious at the arrogance of the super rich and their greedy ways. I’m ready for change and I’m not concerned about law and order because I believe the law and order crowd is to blame for our economic anarchy as it is.

What’s it gonna take for these fat cats who sold us out to get the hint? What will it take for them to realize that the anger that is brewing towards them and their systems of oppression against us is dangerous?! The level of frustration that the average American has to go through and put up with is sucking the happiness and contentment from our lives. I hear young people that I work with who don’t want to raise children because of our current state of affairs. Yet, the daily hardships that we endure are building.

The businessman only wants more profits while we are dying in the fields of despair. Damn be the businessman and his demands of more! The majority pay the price for his leisure at the expense of our toil. I will always remember the way you tortured us as young adults who were trying to make their way and all the times you moved the good paying jobs out of our neighborhoods to foreign lands, when you were already rich as a kings!

So keep your mammon that you sold us out for and we will keep on calling out your lies so we can at least keep our sanity, we know you are full of it and we still have kept our freedom of speech! We just want you to be on the same page, and not think that you are getting one over us, we already know who and what you are!

About Jack Jones

Jack Jones writes for Democracy Chronicles from Chicago’s south suburbs where he grew up. He is a union electrician Local 134, certified minister from Berean University, AYSO board member and coach, basketball coach, Cub Scout leader, husband, father and social participant. Jack considers himself a gourmet junk food chef, political writer, musician and likes to contribute to the world around him. A former deacon and chaplain at Cook County Jail in Chicago, he feels that our out-of-control corporate, religious and political environment is to blame for many of the problems in the world today. Jack believes we need to get money out of politics and that the church should take care of people instead of trying to get hypocrites elected to public office.
