Jack Jones articles

jack jonesJack Jones writes for Democracy Chronicles from Chicago’s south suburbs where he grew up. He is a union electrician Local 134, certified minister from Berean University, AYSO board member and coach, basketball coach, Cub Scout leader, husband, father and social participant. Jack considers himself a gourmet junk food chef, political writer, musician and likes to contribute to the world around him. A former deacon and chaplain at Cook County Jail in Chicago, he feels that our out-of-control corporate, religious and political environment is to blame for many of the problems in the world today. Jack believes we need to get money out of politics and that the church should take care of people instead of trying to get hypocrites elected to public office.

Democracy Since Reagan

If things are chaotic the rich can do whatever they want with less resistance. Most importantly, they are hell bent on accumulating all future income and, since Reagan, they have done a cleanup job of this endeavor.

Women and Children First!

600 women were arrested for civil disobedience at the Senate Hart Office Building. They symbolically wrapped themselves in thermal blankets to represent the shelters the refugee children have to live in.

Hey America: Love is the Answer!

June 28, 2018 by Jack Jones 4 Comments

Love is the Answer!

We like to promote men of low moral content. Most of them received draft deferments but, as true chicken hawks, can think only about war. That’s why I stop every time I hear John Lennon sing: “Love is the Answer”!

The Making of a Fascist Empire

The Making of a Fascist Empire

The creed of Reaganomics is greed is good. Just tell that to the child that doesn’t see his parents anymore because of a two job work load or is going to bed hungry. Is this the so-called “Promised Land”?

Will it be War Again?

June 22, 2018 by Jack Jones 2 Comments

Will it be War Again?

We have to worry if Trump plans to go to war to win re-election as a war president, like George Bush Jr. before him. And would he go to war just to please munition manufactures? What’s he trying to accomplish?

Political Accountability in America

Political Accountability in America

Corporate America has been allowed to turn the media into a monopoly and it is past time to enforce the Sherman Antitrust Act to break up the monopolies. And I also believe we need to reenact the media regulations that Reagan stripped.

The Border Children

The Border Children

Bring down hell fire and woe on the backs of these calloused beasts and do not remember their names in the Book of the Living. For they sold your innocents for power and lorded it over them.

The Problem With Capitalism Without Conscience

June 19, 2018 by Jack Jones 1 Comment

Capitalism Without Conscious

I have a friend who was in seminary and he told me one of his professors had said, ”democracies rise and fall by the morals of its people”. I believe this to be true, but why have so many Christian and Republicans sided with the cause of evil?
